Resolution Criteria: US Government Shutdown in 2025?
This market will resolve to “Yes” if the United States federal government experiences a shutdown at any point in the calendar year 2025 due to a lapse in appropriations, resulting in the cessation of non-essential government operations.
The shutdown must be officially confirmed by credible sources such as:
• The U.S. Office of Management and Budget (OMB)
• Major news outlets (e.g., Reuters, AP, Bloomberg)
• Official government statements or reports
A brief lapse in funding that does not lead to the suspension of government services will not qualify for a “Yes” resolution. If no shutdown occurs by December 31, 2025, at 11:59 PM PT, this market will resolve to “No”.
