This market will resolve to “Yes” if Venezuela is formally admitted as a U.S. state, becoming the 51st state of the United States, by December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM PT.

Admission requires an Act of Congress admitting Venezuela as a state that is signed into law by the U.S. President (or enacted over veto) and officially recognized by the U.S. federal government.

Otherwise, this market will resolve to “No.”

Territorial status, military control, treaties, referendums, or proposals do not qualify as statehood.
